“An Overview of Extended Foster Care for Attorneys Representing Older Foster Care Youth” – A training for current Volunteer Attorneys

1.0 CLE credit has been applied for. Children’s Law Center of Minnesota will provide a detailed summary of the eligibility criteria, benefits, termination requirements, termination objections as well as recommendations and practice tips for attorneys to assist older foster care youth navigating Minnesota’s Extended Foster Care Program primarily in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties. We hope you will join us!

  • TO REGISTER: Please complete this form CLC Training Brochure 9.13.2022 or call 651-644-4438 to have a copy emailed to you.  If you plan to take a case after training, the $45.00 fee is waived.  The only amount due is $10.00 for the background check fee.
  • APPLY to be a CLC Volunteer Attorney:  Attorneys who are taking the RYFC training in order to become a CLC pro bono attorney need to complete the attached application.  Please complete this New Volunteer Attorney Application  and return it to Children’s Law Center via mail or email.  Thank you.

CLE credits will be applied for.  This training program focuses on preparing pro bono lawyers to represent foster children. The training includes a comprehensive overview of the child protection system in Minnesota, as well as an opportunity to learn from current CLC attorneys, child advocates, and experts. We hope you will join us!



This training program prepares attorneys to represent youth in foster care. As a lawyer for a child in foster care, you will represent your client in juvenile court, identify and obtain appropriate services, and negotiate settlements. When you decide to do pro bono work for CLC, CLC staff attorneys and social workers will strategize with you, provide information about resources for your client, and help you assess your client’s development and education needs.

ON-DEMAND TRAINING is now available. The program is approved for 3.5 CLE credits upon completion.  Please email info@clcmn.org to request a registration form.
