CLC’s Volunteer Lunchtime Workshop on July 21, 2021 at 12:00pm
This discussion-based lunch hour workshop will address effective ways to communicate to youth who have experienced trauma, provide suggestions when explaining challenging legal topics to foster care youth, explore how to remotely communicate to child clients and address other communication questions or concerns. .CLC Social Workers, Angela Shepherd and Weida Allen, will present with CLC’s Managing Attorney, Anne Gueinzius, and CLC Staff Attorney, Debra Kovats, key communication strategies when working with foster care youth. CLE credits will be applied for. This training program focuses on preparing pro bono lawyers to represent foster children. The training includes a comprehensive overview of the child protection system in Minnesota, as well as an opportunity to learn from current CLC attorneys, child advocates, and experts.
