April 2011 Volunteer of the Month: Ginny Bell

Ginny Bell has volunteered with the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota (CLC) since 1997. Her ongoing dedication to helping foster children is evident in her work with CLC and its clients. In her six previous cases, she has been a strong advocate for the interests of her clients and continues with two more ongoing cases.

March 2011 Volunteer of the Month: Jonathan Schaan

Congratulations to Jonathan Schaan, CLC’s March 2011 volunteer of the month. Jonathan began volunteering at the CLC office back in October of 2010. Jonathan is a recent graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, where he served as the production editor for the Northwestern University Journal of International Human Rights, and was on Executive Board of the International Law Society.

February 2011 Volunteer Of the Month: Joe Cassioppi

Joseph Cassioppi, of Fredrikson & Byron is CLC’s February Volunteer of the Month. Joe has gone above and beyond for a client that needed help to avoid outcomes that could have impacted his future for many years. Because he had Joe as his attorney, his client faces a brighter and healthier future.

January 2011 Volunteers of the Month: Nancy Coyle Strahan & Kathleen Berdan

Nancy Coyle Strahan and Kathleen Berdan attended CLC’s training session in June 2000. As new attorneys they were not familiar with the child protection system and laws and both stated that they were a little intimidated about representing foster care children. Nancy and Kathleen were the first volunteers to co-represent CLC clients and have co-represented several very difficult cases. They have spent an estimated 3,000 hours on their clients since 2000.

December 2010 Volunteer of the Month-Michelle Huntley Dill

This month, CLC would like to honor Michelle Huntley Dill from UnitedHealth Group (UHG) as CLC’s Volunteer of the Month. This winter Michelle was able to work with Staples for a donation of 325 travel bags for CLC’s foster clients.
