Children’s Law Center of Minnesota (CLC) is now accepting applications for our 2026 Board of Directors and Standing Committees. We are committed to building a diverse leadership team that reflects the communities we serve and strengthens our ability to advance CLC’s mission of giving children in foster care a voice in their future.
Board of Directors
CLC is seeking candidates to fill five (5) seats on our Board of Directors, each serving a three-year term (January 2026–December 2028, renewable for an additional three-year term).
Board members play a vital role in:
- Upholding fiduciary responsibilities of care, loyalty, obedience, and confidentiality.
- Contributing to strategic planning and oversight of the organization’s mission and finances.
- Supporting fundraising and resource development efforts.
- Serving as ambassadors for CLC in the community.
Committees
CLC is also welcoming applications for our Standing Committees, which support our operations and strategic initiatives:
- Development & Marketing Committee – fundraising, events, donor outreach, and awareness-building.
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee – advancing CLC’s DEI Action Plan and guiding organizational equity work.
- Finance Committee – overseeing budgeting, audits, investments, and financial sustainability.
- Policy Committee – monitoring and influencing public policy that impacts children and families.
Committee terms are for one calendar year (January 2026 – December 2026). Service is voluntary and unpaid, with meeting frequency varying by committee

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants with diverse expertise, including (but not limited to):
- Trauma-informed medical professionals
- Accounting and tax professionals (especially nonprofit accounting)
- Banking and finance professionals
- DEI leaders
- County child-welfare employees
- Mental health professionals
- Nonprofit professionals with aligned missions
- Law school professionals
