Children’s Law Center Announces New Executive Director

The Board of Directors of the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota (CLC) is pleased to announce Nikki Farago as the organization’s new Executive Director. Ms. Farago brings with her nearly two decades of experience working on behalf of children and families. Her executive leadership in state government spans 13 years, where she provided strategic direction and managerial oversight for agency-wide functions, including state legislative operations, communications, and external relations.  During her time in state government, she served on several statewide committees focused on improving outcomes for Minnesota children and families. Ms. Farago is also an experienced litigator in child protection cases.

Nikki holds a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and has authored publications pertaining to child welfare and keeping children safe.

“I’ve long been inspired by CLC’s broad and meaningful impact—through direct representation, education and policy advocacy—and I’m honored to have the opportunity to bring my experience into the organization to support the work of CLC’s amazing staff and volunteers who support children and youth each and every day,” Ms. Farago says.

CLC promotes the legal rights and well-being of children and youth. CLC’s staff and volunteers provide direct representation of children and youth, primarily in the child welfare system, and advocate for changes in the systems that affect their lives.

Nikki will lead CLC’s team of highly talented and dedicated staff and hundreds of volunteer attorneys. “Nikki has dedicated her career to protecting children and their rights all across this state,” said Bill Hefner, CLC Board Chair. “We could not be more excited about the benefits her years of experience and myriad talents will bring to the Executive Director position.” The Board is confident that Nikki will be instrumental in advancing the mission of Children’s Law Center of Minnesota into the future.
